In 1968 the museum received the status of "folk", and in 1979 it became a department of the Luhansk Regional Museum of Local Lore.
In 1990 it was reorganized into the Kreminna Museum of Local Lore.
The museum is located in a historic building, which is an architectural monument of the late XIX century. The total area is 182.7 m2, of which the exhibition area is 156.1 m2.
The museum has eight thematic sections - archeology, history of Slobozhanshchina, the First World War and the Revolution, Donbass, the Second World War, as well as the exhibition department "Kreminski Forests", "Partisan dugout".
