Bohdanov Hryhorii Oleksandrovych

He has published more than 450 scientific papers, normative reference books on the organization of complete feeding of animals, their breeding, and treatment. He was the national coordinator of international scientific ecological and radioecological projects.

Born on March 6, 1930 in the village of Svistunivka, Svatove District, Luhansk Oblast. He was an outstanding scientist in the field of farm animals and fodder production technologies. After graduating from the Kharkiv Agricultural Institute, he worked as a senior zootechnician at the Markivka Regional Department of Agriculture in Luhansk Oblast. Since 1953, he worked at Askania Nova Reserve for Hybridization and Acclimatization of Animals. In 1963, he was appointed a Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Animal Husbandry of the Forest-Steppe and Polissya of the Ukrainian SSR. Rector of the Kharkiv Zooveterinary Institute (1970–1973). Director of the Research Institute of Animal Husbandry of the Forest-Steppe and Polissya of the Ukrainian SSR (1973–1976). Rector of the Ukrainian Agricultural Academy (1976–1979).

Vice-President of the VASGNIL, Chairman, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the Southern Branch of the VASGNIL (1979–1990). Head of the Department of the National Agrarian University (1990–1996). Academician, Secretary of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Medicine and Product Processing (1996–2000).

Under his guidance and with his direct participation, standards and reference books on the organization of complete feeding of cattle and a lot of literature on breeding and treatment of animals were developed and published. More than 450 scientific papers, including 20 textbooks, were published. He has 27 certificates of authorship and patents for inventions. He was a national coordinator of international scientific ecological and radioecological projects. Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine (1996), Laureate of the Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR (1989), awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1971), the Order of Friendship of Peoples (1980), and many medals. Academician of the Ukrainian Agrarian Academy of Sciences (1991).
