United Nations Development Program
UNDP is the UN's global development network, an organization that advocates for positive change and provides countries with access to sources of knowledge, experience and resources to help people around the world build better lives. Collaborates with 177 countries around the world, helping them find their own ways to solve global and national problems in the field of human development. By improving their own capabilities, they have the opportunity to use the experience and knowledge of UNDP staff and a wide range of partners. Through partnerships with national, regional and local governments, civil society and the private sector, UNDP seeks to support Ukraine in overcoming poverty, developing human potential, achieving equitable results, protecting the environment and promoting democratic governance. UNDP assists in the restoration of critical social and economic infrastructure, in improving the efficiency of local authorities in eastern Ukraine; as well as job creation and entrepreneurship promotion among IDPs and host communities; promotes peace and reconciliation.
Priorities
UNDP's main strategic goal & ndash; to assist Ukraine in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals set out in the Global Agenda for Sustainable Development until 2030. This work is carried out in three main areas: Governance reform. Reform of environmental and energy policy with an emphasis on innovative and energy efficient economic development that does not harm the environment. Peacebuilding and reconstruction of conflict-affected areas. UNDP is guided by the Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Conventions to which the Ukrainian government has acceded. The main theme of the organization is the relationship between governance reform and human development.
