Recognition of Ukraine: March 9, 1992.
Establishment of diplomatic relations: April 25, 1992.
There are no high-level contacts.
There is a practice of protocol correspondence.
In January-November 2019, bilateral trade in goods amounted to USD 3.3 million and decreased by 73.3% compared to the same period in 2018. There were no exports. Imports are decreased by 72.5%.
Services exports in January-September 2019 amounted to USD 760.7 thousand.
There is no investment cooperation.
Cultural and humanitarian cooperation
According to the Ministry of Education of Ukraine, 310 Zimbabwean students got education in 2019.
Peculiarities of the country
1. In Zimbabwe, men with big bellies are considered to be wealthy. A big belly means that a man is financially stable and can afford to eat meat every day.
2. In Zimbabwe, you can buy goods at a South African price, pay in Euros and get the charge in US dollars.
3. Motorists in Zimbabwe are legally required to use headlights from 5:30 pm to 5:30 am.
