Recognition of Ukraine: December 30, 1991.

Cultural and humanitarian cooperation

In January-November 2019, the volume of bilateral trade in goods amounted to USD 4.97 million and increased by 4.8 times compared to the same period in 2018. At the same time, the export of goods from Ukraine to Zambia amounted to USD 3 million and imports of goods from Zambia to Ukraine amounted to USD 1.97 million. The positive surplus for Ukraine for this period amounted to USD 1.03 million.

The export of services in January-September 2019 amounted to USD 445,000.

According to the Ministry of Education of Ukraine, 148 Zambian students got education in 2019.

Peculiarities of the country

1. Modern supermarkets in Zambia can only be found in the capital city.

2. According to Zambian laws tourists are not allowed to take pictures of Pygmies.

3. In Zambia, mice and insects are considered to be local delicacies.
