Recognition of Ukraine: December 26, 1991.
Establishment of diplomatic relations: May 18, 1992.
Uruguay abstained in the vote on the UN General Assembly resolution 68/262 of 27.03.2014 «Territorial integrity of Ukraine».
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the total amount of trade between Ukraine and Uruguay was USD 12.9 million in 2014. Ukrainian exports to Uruguay amounted to USD 9.4 million in 2014, while imports from Uruguay amounted to USD 3.5 milliom.
In the first half of 2015, bilateral trade amounted to USD 1 million, mainly due to imports of Uruguayan goods to Ukraine.

Import goods groups: pharmaceutical products, hides, fish and crustaceans.

Peculiarities of the country
1. Uruguay has a relatively high standard of living. The country is considered to be "Switzerland of Latin America".
2. The state of the environment is very high in this country There is no harmful production in Uruguay.
З. In Uruguay it is strongly recommended not to leave own houses for a long period of time. If someone moves into a house and stays there during a month without any problems, it will be possible to register the property in own name.
