On 29-31 October 2018, T. Sliuz, the Head of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, took part in the 12th Annual Symposium of the International Association of Treasury Services (Nouakchott, Mauritania).
On 30 October 2019, within the framework of the 36th session of the Francophone Ministerial Conference (Principality of Monaco) a working meeting was held between the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine A.I. Zayats and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mauritania I.S. Ahmed.
Because of growing Ukrainian exports of ferrous metals, grains, as well as imports of fish and fish products, the trade turnover between the countries has increased 2.5 times in recent years.
The bilateral trade turnover amounted to USD 49.23 million, with a positive surplus of USD 39.67 million.
In 2019, exports of Ukrainian goods amounted to USD 44.45 million. In particular, grain exports amounted to USD 30.06 million, ferrous metals amounted to USD 5.25 million, meat and edible co-products – to USD 5.34 million. Exports of vegetable oil and fertilizers significantly increased.
In 2019, imports of Mauritanian goods amounted to USD 4.78 million. In particular, fish and seafood imports amounted to USD 2.72 million. These included imports of fish and seafood (USD 2.72 million), food residues and waste amounted to USD 1.65 million.
In 2019, there was a 74% increase in exports of services.

Peculiarities of the country
1. The capital of Algeria is also named Algeria.
2. Being located in North Africa Algeria is the largest state in the African continent. Not so long ago, Algeria was second only to the Sudan that was divided into Sudan and South Sudan in 2011. Thus, Algeria got the title of the largest country in Africa.
3. As the desert occupies a huge part of Algeria, the most part of the population lives on the northern coast. Every tenth Algerian lives in the capital city.
