Recognition of Ukraine: May 27, 1992.
Establishment of diplomatic relations: August 18, 1992.
Colombia supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the international arena.
In 2014, bilateral trade between Ukraine and Colombia amounted to USD 69.6 million. Domestic exports amounted to USD 46.7 million. Imports amounted to USD 22.9 million.
In the first half of 2015, trade between Ukraine and Colombia amounted to USD 30 million. Ukrainian exports amounted to USD 10.9 million, while Colombian imports amounted to USD 19.1 million. Ukraine`s negative foreign trade balance amounted to USD 8.2 million.
Ukraine`s exports are based on structural carbon steel, ferrous metal products, equipment, machines, mineral and nitrogen fertilizers.
Ukraine’s imports are based on coking coal and oil refining products, wood, coffee, tea, cocoa, food products.

Peculiarities of the country
1. Age is highly respected in Colombia, so the older a man is, the more influence he has.
2. Almost all Colombians formally address each other as "you", e.g. parents to children, brother to sister and even pet owners to their pets. The Caribbean region is an exception. This is not a sign of respect for interlocutor - it is simply a habit acquired in childhood.
3. There is a tradition to give bouquets with an even number of flowers rather than an odd number.
